The library at Kalra College of Education, Kud, is a vital resource and the heart of our institution. It plays a significant role in maintaining the high educational standards we are committed to providing. Our library is well-equipped with a vast collection of materials related to the professional B.Ed course, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, professional reference books, textbooks, periodicals, and newspapers.
Library Facilities
The library is designed to offer a comfortable and spacious environment where up to 50 students can study simultaneously. In line with our commitment to fostering independent learning, we are implementing a self-service system where students can draw books from the shelves and are responsible for returning them after use.

Library Rules
To maintain an organized and efficient library system, all students must adhere to the following rules:
Library Membership and Borrowing Privileges:
- Library Card: Every student is required to possess a valid Library-Cum-Identity Card. This card serves as your library membership and is essential for borrowing books. Replacement cards can be obtained from the library office for a fee of Rs. 200/- in case of loss.
- Borrowing Limits: Students are entitled to borrow a maximum of 2 books at a time for a period of seven days.
- Overdue Fines: A late fee of Rs. 5/- per day per book will be charged for materials returned beyond the designated loan period.
Maintaining Library Materials:
- Book Inspection: Upon borrowing library materials, students are expected to inspect the condition of the books and report any missing pages to the librarian immediately. Students will be held responsible for the condition of borrowed materials if such discrepancies are not reported upon checkout.
- Damaged or Lost Books: Students are liable for replacing or compensating for any lost or damaged library materials. This may involve paying the full replacement cost of the book or providing a new copy along with a 10% service charge.
- Preserving Materials: Writing, underlining, or marking on library books, periodicals, or other materials is strictly prohibited. Please treat all library resources with respect.
Reference Materials and Usage:
- Restricted Materials: Journals, periodicals, encyclopedias, dictionaries, reference books, and certain publications are considered restricted materials. These resources are meant for in-library consultation only and cannot be borrowed.
General Library Conduct:
- Following the Rules: We encourage all students to adhere to the library rules and regulations. Doing so fosters a positive and productive learning environment for everyone.
- Maintaining Decorum: The library is a designated quiet study area. Please refrain from engaging in loud conversations or disruptive behavior that may disturb fellow students.

- Lost and Found: Lost items found in the library will be kept at the library desk for a designated period. Unclaimed items will be disposed of according to college policy.
